The Male Romper
Playsuits and Jumpsuits have become versatile day and night staples for females, so it’s only natural that men would want a slice of the one-piece action too, right? It was dubbed the RompHim and was a total fail. Both men and women were abit flabbergasted to say the least as to why someone felt this was missing from the fashion industry.
Opting for a classic, timeless style of suit would definitely be a better option!
Pre- ripped T-shirts
We’ve all got that T-shirt that we’ve over loved and had way too long but we just can’t bear to part with. Brands started to take this idea to the extreme, releasing band tees and slashing them for that ‘I found this at the back of my wardrobe look’ and charging very high prices for them.
Super skinny ties
What is considered a trendy width of tie changes like the wind and with the decades. Skinny ties have become increasingly popular, especially with younger men however, the skinny suit is beginning to fall off the catwalk in favour of a more relaxed Italian style. This change in suit styles will inevitably mean a shift in tie widths. We’re not saying we want to see ties the size of sails but increased love towards the happy medium would be welcome.
Oversized anything
There’s a fine line between carrying off athleisure and looking sloppy and like you’ve just rolled out of bed. Coats dragging along the floor and giant suit jackets would more than likely not be a welcome sight to your office colleagues. A fitted, classic look never goes out of fashion but if you did want to safely try this look, go for something a but looser than you would usually, but we recommend to not go overboard!
Plastic Sunglasses
Those Kurt Cobainesque bright white plastic oval shaped sunglasses. They may have slightly been cool in the 90s paired with a leopard print coat, but they should definitely have stayed there. A classic pair of aviators will give any outfit a more timeless, sleek finish.
Really ripped denim
Let’s return to the ripped trend shall we. The fact that brands decided to remove half of the material and expect customers to pay similar, or higher prices was not a welcome ploy. Jeans were slashed, and unprecedented amounts of leg was on show for the world to see.
Camo and Cargo pants
Whilst it is thankfully not part of the mainstream, popularity of camo and cargo pants has been prevalent for the last decade. Some say it is a rebel against the ‘skinny trend’ of jeans and suits among others but its safe to say we’re not too keen.
So, if you hate these trends as much as we do you may want to stick to a more classic tailored look for your mens jackets and other essentials.
